IE2023
The 19th International Conference on Intelligent Environments
The 19th International Conference on Intelligent Environments (IE2023) will be held in Mauritius from June 27th to June 30th. The demo and video track provides a unique opportunity to showcase research prototypes, novel ideas and future visions of intelligent environments that are difficult to convey in a paper format. Submissions on all conference topics listed in the main call for papers are welcome. Two types of submissions are invited:
- Demos of research prototypes that can be shown at the conference. These will typically be physical artifacts or software applications. They should be presented by a demonstrator person. The conference participants should be able to interact with this person and, if possible, the demo itself.
- Videos of intelligent environments or technologies relevant to intelligent environments, as well as new ideas and ways of thinking about intelligent environments. A video submission can be motivated by the desire to present something visually that cannot be transported to the conference (e.g., a building), or that is abstract (e.g., a complex idea), or by combining science and technology with art.
We encourage the submission of demos and videos that complement paper submissions to the full-paper track and workshops held at IE2023. Note, however, that they should be self-contained (i.e., they should summarize key information from the companion paper) and should also contain new information relevant to the demo or video that is not included in the companion paper.
The best demo or video selected by the programme committee will be awarded with a certificate and a free 3-month online subscription to JAISE provided by our sponsor IOS Press. Both the merit of the research being shown, and the quality of the demo or video itself will be taken into account when selecting the winner.
Submission guidelines
A demo or video should be described in a paper submissions of up to 4 pages in length, which conforms to IE2023 formatting guidelines (more information here – link to be added once available) and will be published in the conference proceedings. The submission should include the URL where a video is available (the authors should ensure long-term availability). The video should be 3-5 min long. In case of a demo submission, the video will enable the reviewers to judge the quality of the submission, and people not attending the conference to enjoy the demo. An interactive presentation at the conference is also expected (please contact the demo and video chairs if you would like to present remotely). In case of a video submission, the video is the star of the submission and will be shown live at the conference.
